In May of 1922, the Bakersfield Californian released the
names of Kern County members of the Ku Klux Klan after a raid by the Los Angeles County sheriff's department on the Los
Angeles headquarters of the Klan. Most of the local members were oilfield
workers, but a few held positions of power in government, business, and law
enforcement. Below is the list of the 398 names published by the Californian
over several days in May 1922.
